Polymer Gallery

Some of my polymer clay Jewellery and Art beads. The beads shown are either from my Illuminare or my Clarice bead series. Both types of bead are characterised by their vibrant metallic, shimmering bases decorated with simple, graphical motifs. The Clarice series is inspired by the colour palettes of Clarice Cliff pottery with lots of bright citrus shades. The Illuminare series tends to use bolder metallic colours along with silver, gold and copper effects.

Once baked, the beads are sanded smooth for a glass-like finish and then either left matte or hand-finished to give a durable high satin shine. The Illuminare and Clarice beads are incredibly time-consuming to make. Each batch of beads requires many separate processes from start to finish, carried out over several days on and off. However, for me the results are worth it and they remain my favourite beads to make. I find it next to impossible to capture their depth and shimmer in photographs, but that could simply be a reflection on my photography skills!
