CernitNew to EJR Beads - Cernit Polymer clay! I have been using Cernit more and more for my own art beads recently. The reformulated phthalate-free version of Cernit is easy to use and when baked is extremely strong. In many ways it reminds me of the old Fimo from the 80s and early 90s - both in how it handles and indeed the vast colour range. The clay is firm and somewhat crumbly out of the packet, but conditions quickly and easily. In use, the clay ranges from firm to very soft, depending on how much you condition and work the clay. Colours tend to darken in the oven a little. Cernit cures in the oven at 110 - 130 degrees C for approximately half an hour. There are 5 different ranges of Cernit clay. See each range below for details. |
